A Second Opinion
In the midst of all this, I scheduled an appointment with the Vanderbilt-Ingram cancer center. Vanderbilt is a research hospital, and I just wanted to see if they had any different ideas about how to treat this. The doctors there explained to me that the treatment options are limited for small cell carcinoma. I was told however, that we should have an MRI of the brain for the lesions there. She felt as though the lesions were small enough that the CT should be verified. However, the treatments I was receiving through my current providers is exactly what they would do. Treatment options for small cell lung cancer are limited. They did take my application for a clinical trial with an experimental DLL3 trial with Rova T. The recommendation was only in the event that first line treatment failed.
